Echo Kartos TM is a training and coaching organization founded in 2005 by NASM certified personal trainer and USAC Cycling Coach, Michael Meslar. We assist people in reaching goals in many areas of their lives and enjoy the satisfaction of helping them move beyond their imagination, into new territory.

At Echo Kartos we focus first on functional performance and fundamental movement that begins from the center of your body. The ability to move freely from your core will enhance all physical activity, from daily tasks to high performance sports.

Many training programs focus on the isoloated development of large muscle groups. Body building programs often utilize this model. Core training centralizes your strength, flexibility, coordination and power into your hips and torso, the most powerful region of the body. Working together, flexible hips and a strong torso are used to generate power.

Equally important are all teh tiny muscles around your joints that are used to stabilize and hold the joints together. Instead of static stretching, which is traditionally assoicated with increased flexibility, EK emphasizes choreographed movements designed to activate these supportive muscles while elongating large muscle groups. We put clients in progressively challening environments that force them to use their body effectively to maintain balance. These movements are also designed to wake up reciprocal muscle groups that work together for balanced strength, such as the glutes and hip flexors, and the quads and hamstrings.

Creating or strengthening this foundation will help you progress toward your goals to become stronger, leaner, more agile or faster. Even clients with significant training experience benefit from these diverse and challenging movements. Sport specific training is much more successful when you begin with your core. Our plans incorporate principals from the martial arts, yoga, and endurance training. Through our private training sessions and group programs we focus not only on the physical, but also the emotional and spiritual impacts of our work.
